Ceramic Fiber Paper

Ceramic fiber paper, a lightweight and flexible refractory material, is made from alumina-silica fibers and is designed for high-temperature insulation applications, offering good thermal and flame resistance.

The exceptional stability at elevated temperatures, coupled with remarkably low thermal conductivity, positions NR papers as an ideal choice for various applications requiring thin, lightweight, and high-temperature materials. These products incorporate an organic binder that enhances flexibility while minimizing off-gassing during initial usage.

NR papers exhibit a high degree of uniformity, achieved through precise control of basis weight and thickness. While NR high-temperature papers are robust, they can be easily cut using knives, shears, or standard steel rule dies. Their inherent flexibility allows for wrapping or rolling to accommodate a wide range of configurations. Our selection of paper chemistries includes alumina silicate and calcium magnesium silicate soluble fibers (AES) paper.

Features of Ceramic Fiber Paper

  • High-Temperature Resistance: Ceramic fiber paper can withstand temperatures up to 1260°C (2300°F).

  • Low Thermal Conductivity: It provides effective insulation with minimal heat transfer.

  • Lightweight and Flexible: Easy to handle and cut, making it suitable for various applications.

  • Resilient and Durable: Offers good resistance to thermal shock and maintains its shape under high temperatures.

  • Good Dielectric Strength: Provides reliable electrical insulation in addition to thermal resistance.

  • Low Heat Storage: Rapid heating and cooling, reducing energy consumption.

  • Clean Burnout: Organic binders used in manufacturing burn out cleanly in service, leaving behind a residue-free, high-purity material.
